DOYLE CENTER PROMOTES BACHESON TO VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

PITTSBURGH, March 25, 2008…The Doyle Center for Manufacturing Technology recently promoted Edwin (Ed) Bacheson to the newly created position of vice president of operations after serving as the organization’s program manager.

Prior to joining the Doyle Center, Bacheson served in various project and program management capacities for Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Parametric Technology, Formtek and Intergraph Corporation. His experience involved deploying large enterprise information management systems with an emphasis on computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, enterprise engineering data management and product lifecycle management. Bacheson earned his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Lehigh University and his master’s from the University of Pittsburgh.

Founded in 2003, the Doyle Center is a federally funded non-profit organization that provides network-centric manufacturing by way of Web-based software, services and infrastructure to orchestrate supply chains that quickly solve parts-sourcing problems for original equipment manufacturers, prime contractors and government organizations. Network-centric manufacturing assists in the manufacture of products throughout their life-cycle within an enterprise in which agile partners and supplier networks exploit new capabilities in connectivity, new skills in collaboration and new strategies for network visibility.
