Doyle Center Staff
Dennis Thompson co-founded the Doyle Center in 2003 and has more than
30 years of manufacturing experience. He serves on the National Council For Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) board and is a frequent speaker on the topic of agile manufacturing for both military and civilian audiences.
In prior positions at Advanced Drainage Systems and Remington Arms, Thompson helped raise both organizations revenue by more than 20 percent. Thompson earned a master’s in business management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Hartford Graduate Center.
Ed Bacheson is vital to the Doyle Center and enabling Network Centric Manufacturing based solutions. Prior to joining the Doyle Center, Bacheson served in project and program management capacities for Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Parametric Technology Corporation, Formtek and Intergraph Corporation. He’s deployed large enterprise information management systems for several types of industries. Bacheson earned his bachelor’s from Lehigh University and his master’s from the University of Pittsburgh.
As project manager for the Doyle Center, Karen Levin implements Network Centric Manufacturing business solutions with key Doyle Center clients. Prior to joining the Doyle Center, Levin served in various project management capacities for several Pittsburgh-area firms, including Red Square Systems, Calgon Corporation, ChemTech Consultants and the Elliott Company. Levin has experience in a wide variety of industries, including information technology and various types of materials and chemicals. She earned a bachelor’s from Carnegie Mellon University a master’s from the University of Pittsburgh.
Steve DeFlitch is responsible for matching manufacturers’ core capabilities with customer needs. He also manages supply chains, validates business processes and educates small manufacturers about Doyle Center solutions. Prior to joining the Doyle Center, DeFlitch implemented a lean manufacturing program for Tri-Arc Manufacturing, and tool design for Senior Flexonics/QSi. He established quality control procedures for Verosol Window Fashions and testing criteria for Respironics. DeFlitch has experience in a variety of industries and earned his bachelor’s from Drexel University.
Tony Scacchitti has numerous high-level engineering responsibilities that are critical to daily Doyle Center operations. Prior to joining the Doyle Center, Scacchitti spent three years planning the warehouse management systems for the QVC television shopping network. Scacchitti has held various engineering and industrial management positions at Airco; The Stanley Works (Stanley Tools); Elkay Inc.; and Xaloy, Inc. Scacchitti earned his bachelor’s at Gannon University and has formal training from the JcIT Institute and the University of Kentucky.
With more than 25 years of experience as assistant to top-level executives, Carol Donnis provides critical administrative support to the Doyle Center. Previously, Donnis provided support at the Rockwell International and Allegheny International. A graduate of Duff’s Business Institute in Pittsburgh, Donnis’ administrative tasks include scheduling meetings, conferences and events, assuring all reporting requirements are met in the appropriate format and timeframe.
